Steel String
Strings
We fit Martin SP Lifespan Phosphor Bronze strings to all of our guitars. Chosen for their incredible performance and clarity, especially through multiple open tuning changes. Made with bronzed steel core wire and phosphor bronze wrap wire, then all six strings are treated for long life - proven reliability time after time.
Tuning Heads
At Goldbeard we prefer Gotoh tuners for our steel string range of guitars. Made in Japan and sold as preferred equipment to instrument manufacturers around the world, they are smooth, accurate and stable, wonderful to the touch and reliable tuning every time. Our standard fitment is the Gotoh SGM model of fully sealed tuners with a 14:1 ratio. The fantastic Gotoh 510's are offered as the premium tuner option. Our Bluenote guitars wear Gotoh Vintage tuners.
Pre-amp / Pick-up
Norwegian built B-band transducer pick-ups and pre-amps are the chosen favourite at Goldbeard, they truly have to be heard to be believed! State-of-the-art tech and the highest build quality. Standard fitment pre-amp is the A3T and we offer the A6T as the premium option. The A3T retains the simple and small features that are big on sound and intuitiveness. We pair the A3T with the 29R Under Saddle Pick-up for application on our steel string guitars - and the results are fantastic.
Nylon String
Strings
D'Addario Pro-Arte Nylon Core is our choice of string, and we are not alone: it is the most popular classical string in the world. All Pro-Arte treble strings are sorted by a sophisticated computer-controlled laser machine which performs diameter and tension measurements, ensuring true-sounding, precise trebles in every set. Pro-Arte basses are wound using silver-plated copper on a multi-filament nylon core for consistent and warm, yet projecting tone.
Tuning Heads
Goldbeard classical guitars are adorned with German made Schaller tuners that were first produced in 1960 and have since been fitted on countless instrument around the globe. They are precisions manufactured, use a warp-proof base plate and high quality bearings for near frictionless movement.
